Additional features wi-fi D-Link DWL-2100AP:
DWL-2100AP is a multifunctional wireless access point for enterprise networks. Designed for indoor use, the access point provides advanced features including Turbo Mode with up to 108Mbps, security and Quality of Service (QoS) features, and multi-mode support for deploying managed and reliable wireless networks.
Connection speed up to 108 Mbps
The DWL-2100AP establishes a reliable connection with 802.11g wireless devices at speeds up to 54 Mbps and supports D-Link 108G technology, providing connection at speeds up to 108 Mbps (Turbo mode). The high throughput provided by the access point makes this device perfect for bandwidth intensive applications. The access point is backward compatible with 802.11b wireless devices.
ATTENTION!
Link speeds up to 108 Mbps in infrastructure mode are only supported by the following adapters: DWL-G650: H/W C1 or higher DWL-G520: H/W A3 , B1 or higher
Enhanced network security
The DWL-2100AP supports 64/128-bit WEP data encryption and WPA/WPA2 security features. In addition, it provides user access control through MAC address filtering, and a SSID broadcast inhibit function to restrict outside access to the internal network.
Increase Network Agility and Efficiency
The access point can be configured to operate as an access point (AP), wireless client, bridge (Wireless Distribution System or WDS), WDS with an access point, or wireless repeater. It supports up to 8 SSIDs, allowing administrators to logically divide an access point into multiple virtual access points within the same hardware platform. Instead of creating two separate networks with two access points, administrators can use one access point to support more than one application, such as public Internet access and internal network management, to increase network flexibility and reduce costs. The DWL-2100AP supports 802.1Q VLAN Tagging that works with multiple SSIDs to segment traffic to improve performance and security. The DWL-2100AP is WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) certified for Quality of Service (QoS).
The DWL-2100AP supports WLAN STA separation, a feature convenient for deploying hotspot-like networks. Due to the presence of separation of the type "station-station", increases the security of the network. This is due to the fact that wireless users cannot see each other's data and the likelihood of information theft is reduced. However, administrators can disable this feature so users in the office can share hard drives, data, and peripherals such as a wireless printer. The DWL-2100AP also supports AP grouping, allowing multiple APs to load balance and distribute wireless clients between APs with the same SSID and different non-overlapping frequency channels.
Advanced network management features
Network administrators can manage the DWL-2100AP settings through the Web interface or Telnet. Another administration tool is also available, a Windows-based utility called the AP Manager. It allows you to automatically discover all installed wireless devices on the network and configure multiple access points. Reliable protection is provided due to the ability to access the management interface of the access point from only two IP addresses specified by the administrator and support for SSL / SSH security protocols.
