This model has the function of reassigning the LAN port to the WAN to create a backup connection. A 3G / 4G modem can also act as a backup. In the settings, you can activate the Transmission torrent client.

One of the flagship models of high-performance wireless dual-band routers (routers) of the AC2600 class of 2018 from a popular and time-tested manufacturer. Designed to create stable high-speed wireless and cable networks in an apartment, detached house or small office (up to 4 stationary PCs). The manufacturer is positioning itself as a product of the upper price category with extended functionality and redundancy functions (it is possible to reassign one of the LAN ports to the WAN to create a backup connection with the provider, the second backup can be a 3G / 4G modem).

The D-Link DIR-882 wireless router supports up to 4 outgoing Gigabit Ethernet lines and is equipped with two USB ports for connecting 3G / 4G (LTE) modems, various drives and printers. Using MT7621A dual-core ARM processor and four 5dBi fixed antennas, the device supports MI-MIMO 4×4 technology and provides throughput up to 800 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band and up to 1732 Mbps when using carrier frequency 5 GHz. Thanks to Beamforming technology, it can perform directional modulation of the radio signal, which allows you to optimally adjust the signal pattern in the room. Supports Firewall, NAT, bridging, multifunctional repeater, DHCP, FTP, file and print server functions. Works correctly with VPN traffic.

Powerful mid-range router

The D-Link DIR-882 is a rather interesting dual-band router that offers a decent set of features at a very reasonable price: it has gigabit LAN ports and a pair of USB ports, has high bandwidth and boasts a bunch of useful tricks. In addition, it looks quite nice, although not too original.

Total speed 2532 Mbps

The “horns” of four antennas protrude from the body of the device. Two of them are responsible for communication in the 2.4 GHz band, a couple more for signal transmission at a less “noisy” 5 GHz frequency. In the first case, we have a throughput of 800 Mbps, while in the 5 GHz band, the speed rises to 1732 Mbps. If there are obstacles in the signal propagation path (for example, two thin walls), the speed drops by about a third, but given the overall high speed, even with drawdowns, traffic is distributed between devices as quickly as possible.

MU-MIMO, Beamforming and 4G modem support

This is not the cheapest model, so the connection quality here is appropriate — the D-Link DIR-882 works stably, and problems with freezing and disconnection of the connection are of a single nature. The list of flattering words about the model is expanded by support for MU-MIMO and Beamforming. The first minimizes lags when broadcasting to multiple wireless clients, the second provides the ability to focus data relaying in the direction of Wi-Fi devices. In terms of additional functionality, we have built-in SmartQoS, a torrent client, the ability to work in repeater mode, VPN, and a Wi-Fi off button. Plus, the LAN port turns into a WAN for a backup connection, and the USB port can be used not only with a flash drive or external hard drive, but also with a 3G / 4G modem.
