Asus ROG Strix Aura ROG Strix 1000W Gold Aura

An advanced 1000 W computer power supply with a modular cable subsystem, serious efficiency and built-in Asus Aura Sync backlight. Part of the 2023 Asus ROG Strix line for enthusiasts, demanding gamers and streamers. It is an update to the ROG Strix Gold series of power supplies, introduced in 2020. Unlike the original model, it supports the ATX 3.0 standard and is equipped with a 16-pin connector for connecting GeForce RTX 40 series video cards.

The manufacturer is positioning it as a product of the highest price category, intended for installation in elite gaming PCs with an open case or a transparent viewing window through which the entire PC backlight will be visible. Compared to most power supplies for gaming systems, this model stands out due to the top 80 Plus Gold certificate, which indicates extremely high efficiency (from 89 to 92% depending on the load) and low noise level.

Japanese capacitors from Nippon and Rubycon are used as the basis, and the general circuitry is made at an advanced level. Cooling of the components inside the power supply is provided by a 135 mm Axial-Tech fan with double ball bearings. Support for 0dB technology is declared, when the fans do not rotate under light and medium loads, minimizing noise inside the power supply. Additional cooling is provided by the all-aluminium body of the power supply itself, which in fact plays the role of an additional radiator.

It also features a new 16-pin PCI-E 5.0 power cable to efficiently power next-generation graphics cards that support this interface. According to the manufacturer, this connector is capable of transmitting up to 600 W, which is 4 times higher than power supplies with an 8-pin connector. As befits an advanced power source, various safety features are provided on board. These systems are OVP (Over Voltage Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), OCP (Over Load Protection), OTP (Over Temperature Protection) and SCP (Short Circuit Protection).
