Zen 5 Architecture

At launch, the Ryzen 9000 series processors received mixed reactions due to high prices — even though the Zen 5 architecture showed significant improvements, many experts preferred the well-established solutions of the 7000 series. However, over the past six months, market dynamics have caused adjustments, and now the Ryzen 7 9700X has become one of the most popular processors in retail sales.

8 Cores, 16 Threads

Technically, the Ryzen 7 9700X is a classic 8-core processor with multithreading support, a maximum clock speed of 5.5 GHz, and 32 MB of L3 cache. Thanks to successful architectural refinements, it delivers impressive results in both single-threaded and multi-threaded modes: in Cinebench and Geekbench tests, its performance approaches the level of the 12-core Ryzen 9 7900X of the previous generation.

Versatile Soldier

The Ryzen 7 9700X confidently handles a wide range of tasks: from modern games to applications with active multi-threaded loads and processes requiring high frequency. However, it also has some downsides — limited undervolting potential, lack of an integrated NPU block, and noticeable heating when activating PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) mode and transitioning to a TDP of 105 W. Therefore, reviews often recommend installing a proper liquid cooling system, although for everyday use, a quality tower cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin will suffice.
