This is a very simple metal detector for those who are just starting to dig. Yes, it has a bad discriminator, and you will dig a lot of traffic jams and rusty iron that will sound like color-meth. But, the price is quite low, and even if you buy it, it’s easy to sell it at the same hour (the demand for ICQ is unrealistic). For a start, it’s better not to find a device. But for me personally, it quickly turned out to be not enough. now my goal is at pro gold. But this is completely different money. From myself I can say the following - a solid universal device for relatively little money. You should not expect miracles from him, but you can try to buy a large coil like Nel Tornado. It increases the depth many times, but you lose detection accuracy and the pinpointer essentially loses its function. In short, in order to learn and consider whether you need it or not + not to miss most of the finds is the best option. A year of use is enough to completely develop into a higher level machine. Be sure to put protection on the coil. Simplicity (assembled and immediately into battle) will be mastered even by a child, price / quality, the speaker is very loud (this is important if you work near the road or near the water) good separation of tones, a good sniper coil in the kit, the ability to put large and high-quality coils without huge costs. Simple and convenient. It has settings for the type of desired metal. For example, you can make the metal detector respond exclusively to precious metals (gold, silver, etc.). The screen displays information about the depth and dimensions of what is under the ground. Additionally, there is the possibility to connect headphones, which at least makes the search process easier for me by blocking out external noises that sometimes interfere significantly. There are three types of audio notifications, signal types. By the type of audio notification, I can determine what material the found item is made of. Over time, I have come to know how a coin "sounds" compared to a piece of metal. As for storage and assembly convenience, it is very easy to use since the rod is collapsible and can be adjusted to your height. You are not limited to a single coil, as different ones can be attached (they differ in diameter and search depth), and a medium-sized one is included in the set. This is an average option for all. It finds most metals, but the characteristics are average in all respects. Fortunately, you can choose the optimal one for your needs and purposes. The charge lasts for two days of frequent use. I immediately bought four AA rechargeable batteries with a charger, Chinese ones. If you purchase regular batteries, the usage time will be significantly reduced, even compared to inexpensive Chinese rechargeables. Change the batteries and onward. In a word, I recommend it. The American company Garrett has been producing metal detectors since 1964. The devices of this manufacturer are distinguished by reliability and high-quality assembly. That is exactly what the ACE 250 is.
Design
The well-balanced S-curve handgrip bar is adjustable in length and can be easily disassembled into three parts : two powder-coated aluminium tops and a carbon plastic bottom. The middle part is equipped with adjustment holes.
The handle is made of thick sponge rubber, which greatly facilitates the use of the detector, the weight of which, compared to the closest analogues, is quite an average of 1.2 kg.
Features
The ACE 250 operates at 6.5 kHz and is equipped with a 6.5 x 9 inch concentric mono coil. It quickly finds small objects (coins) at a depth of up to 25 cm, and large objects at a distance of up to 1 metre. The coil is protected from dust, dirt and moisture, and can be replaced with other variants of the ACE series, as well as third-party manufacturers.
With 5 automatic discrimination programs (all metals (no discrimination); coins; custom; relics; ignoring iron debris), target localization mode (pin-point) and a 12-segment Target ID object recognition scale, 2 segments of which are used to detect ferrous metals , ACE 250 will easily distinguish valuable metal from ordinary trash. Despite such not poor functionality, many ACE 250 users complain about the high percentage of false positives.
In addition, the volume of the 3-tone signal announcing the find is not adjustable, and at the same time it is quite loud, since there is a headphone jack. There is also a 4-position indication of determining the depth of the object, and the entire "kitchen" is controlled using convenient physical buttons.
battery life
Four AA alkaline batteries will last for 40 hours of operation. This is a fairly high indicator of battery life in the class and will especially please fans of long measured searches. There is a charge indicator.
Overall, the ACE 250 is an easy-to-use metal detector for relatively little money, with a focus on both beginners and seasoned diggers.
