Each capsule contains a precisely dosed amount of coffee to obtain a serving of a specific drink. Usually, one such container is spent on preparing a serving. Capsule coffee machines are extremely simple and easy to use: just charge the capsule, turn on the preparation and wait for the end of the process, and then remove the used container. The capsules themselves are both disposable and reusable. The advantage of the first option is that the human factor is eliminated from the brewing process: each capsule contains a standard portion of coffee and each subsequent cup of the drink does not differ from the previous one. In addition, disposable containers are hermetically sealed with a foil lid and can be stored for a long time without loss of quality, and capsules also have a wide variety of tastes of finished drinks. Their disadvantages are the high final cost of the drink (almost twice as expensive as when using beans or ground coffee), the use of different capsule formats by different manufacturers of coffee machines. Reusable capsules, in turn, can be filled with ground coffee to your taste. They are cheaper, but they are not suitable for long-term storage and require thorough cleaning when changing coffee varieties.
