Mountain (MTB)

— this category of tyres can be conditionally called "off-road": they are designed for driving on rough terrain, including in the complete absence of roads. The common features of mountain models are a rather large profile height, a pronounced tread (often quite high), and also, in most cases, a relatively small diameter. The latter is because good torque for a mountain bike is more important than high speed and rolling. However, there are also quite large MTB tyres — up to 29". However, this diameter is not provided to improve speed characteristics, but to increase the contact patch and increase cross-country ability.
