Nickel-wrapped strings
Nickel
— one of the traditional materials used for winding strings in electric guitars. Nickel is slightly more expensive than steel (see related paragraph), but is softer and slipperier; the first has a positive effect on the service life of the sills, the second on the ease of performing certain techniques. At the same time, the braid of this material retains its working properties longer than nickel-plated steel (the nickel layer is gradually erased from it during use). From an acoustic point of view, nickel gives a relatively smooth, even and "warm" sound, slightly duller than steel.Show
