Phosphor bronze braided strings
— a metal with a characteristic reddish tinge, popular in acoustic guitar strings. The basis of a string with such a winding is usually steel, less often the same phosphor bronze. Compared to "regular" bronze, this winding gives a tighter, warmer and smoother sound, with less pronounced high frequencies and cleaner bass. Also note that phosphor bronze is not as susceptible to moisture and resists corrosion better.
