Steel braided strings
— steel braid is found mainly in electric guitar and bass strings. Compared to another popular material, nickel-plated steel, this braiding produces a brighter, sharper, and cleaner sound. This is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage — it all depends on the preferences of the guitarist. But from the unambiguous shortcomings, it can be noted that fingers slide worse on the steel braid; this can make some passages difficult to play.
