Halogen torches
Halogen lamp
— modification of incandescent lamps (see above), the distinguishing feature of which is the presence of so-called vapors. halogens (usually bromine or iodine) in the gas filling the flask. Such additives make it possible to increase the brightness of the glow and at the same time increase the life of the incandescent spiral — due to the fact that they prevent the evaporation of tungsten atoms from the hot filament. Initially, "halogens" were a fairly advanced type of light source, but nowadays they are gradually being replaced by more advanced LEDs and are found only in certain models of hand-held lamps (see "Type").clear | Save List |
