To prevent a yard sale at the crag, we load up with the Mammut Neon 55L Pack. On the approach, the padded back panel prevents our gear from digging into our spine, while the load lifters, sternum stra more→p, and waist belt help stabilize our load. The internal pocketing, gear loop, and removable tarp bag keep all our gear organized, accessible, and tangle free, so when we reach the wall, we're racked and ready to climb in record time.

We can leave the kitchen sink behind, but the Mammut Neon 45L Pack has plenty of room for our full climbing kit. The 45-liter capacity features plenty of storage space and plenty of climb-oriented org more→anization, such as an integrated rope bag to keep our rope tangle-free, storage loops for our quickdraws, a flat bottom for easy standing, and a spacious main compartment that we can access from the top or large back opening, even with a rope mounted.

It’s variable volume allows packing versatility, making the Mammut Duncan Spine one of our go-tos for backpacking and trekking. Mountain guide Patrick Gabarrou is sick of wearing a backpack anytime he climbs up chimneys and offwidths, and you would be as well if you ever experience a similar misfortune.
