Gear oil with Mercon approval

Mercon

— oils that meet one of Mercon's standards.

These standards were developed by Ford for their cars with automatic transmissions. Like Dexron, they have long been a benchmark for many other car and auto chemical manufacturers — especially since the requirements of Dexron and Mercon are similar, and many oils are certified according to two standards at once. At the same time, Mercon marking is used much less frequently in the east european market, and all oils with this marking can be combined into one selection point. Specific variations of this standard include, in particular:

— The original Mercon sample 1987;
— Mercon IV, introduced in 1997;
— Mercon V — 2001;
— Mercon LV — 2009;
— Mercon SP (2004) — a special version for Ford 6R boxes installed in cars with a longitudinal engine, mainly SUVs and SUVs.
