The Dexron standard was developed by General Motors and has long been the main reference point for most manufacturers producing cars with automatic transmission. At the same time, the Dexron IV and V versions, for a number of reasons, did not receive much distribution, and the sixth version, released in 2005, became a full-fledged successor to the popular Dexron III. It, among other things, provides a lower oil viscosity and improved resistance to scuffing and corrosion; this has a positive effect on the efficiency and durability of the gearbox.
