Metal detectors with vibration response
— as the name implies, devices with this function are able to give a signal by vibrating the case — similar to mobile phones. The convenience of vibration response is primarily due to the fact that the body of the device is constantly in the hand; as a result, the sound may not be heard, the light signal may not be noticed, but the vibration is almost guaranteed to be felt (and regardless of where the user is looking and how noisy it is around). Accordingly, this function reduces the likelihood of missing an important notification from the device.
Another advantage of the vibration response can be relevant for inspection devices (see "Intended use"): such a signal is practically inaudible to others, which can be useful when inspecting "suspicious persons" who do not want to know about the operation of the device.
