Walk the Plank! board games
Walk the Plank!
— a humorous game on a pirate theme: the captain of the ship is angry with the crew, the guilty pirates must go overboard along the board and, if they are not lucky, go "to feed the fish." The playing field includes the deck of the ship and the board itself, consisting of three square tiles. Before the start of the game, each player takes three pirate figures of his colour and places them in a row on the "deck"; the players then receive 10 action cards of the same colour, choose 3 of them, place them face down on the table, and the round begins. Cards are revealed in turn and only in the order in which they were originally laid out. After opening the card, you need to perform the action indicated on it, the options may be as follows:— Push forward the figure of another player (left, right or any of your choice) located on one tile;
— Saw or nail the board (remove or add one tile);
— Drag to the sea or to the ship (move your figure in the appropriate direction, taking one neighbor on the tile);
— Decide as you go (move 1 tile forward or backward, your choice);
“I don’t want sharks!” (move back 1 or 2 tiles);
— "Turn on the heat!" (move forward 1 tile and push forward one of the figures standing on it.
A figure that moves forward from the last tile "falls overboard" and is out of the game.
Thus, the participant cannot predict the actions of opponents and change his order of actions, chosen before the start of the round; and actions from the cards must be performed without fail, even if they harm the player. As a result, the game is simple, does not require global planning and at the same time fun and funny. After the end of the round, the players take their cards back, again lay out three cards of their choice — and the process repeats. The game continues until there are two pirates of different colours (or less) left on the board, or pirates of only one colour. "Food the Fish" is considered a game that is interesting for both children and adults, and is well suited for a relaxed pastime when you do not want to think about more complex games.
