Munchkin

— a game that originally had a fantasy focus and was created as a parody of "serious" tabletop role-playing and card games like Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering.

Gameplay of "Munchkin" simulates walking through the dungeons inhabited by monsters, fighting with these monsters and leveling the character. The winner is the one who reaches a certain level earlier (usually the tenth). Before the game begins, the player receives or chooses a specific class and race that determines special abilities. Monsters, various bonuses and troubles, additional equipment and many other elements of the game world are also made in the form of cards, many of which can not only be received by the player, but also can be played at the right time. The game also uses a six-sided dice.

"Munchkin" was originally created as a humorous game, the cards were designed and the rules were formulated in a non-serious style. The interactions between the players are worth a special mention. The rules really allow you to "ruin the life" of other players, giving monsters or other trouble to them and preventing them from gaining levels; you can help your friends, but in the spirit of the game it is not supposed to be done for free. At the same time, for all its apparent non-seriousness, "Munchkin" requires the player to have tactical and strategic thinking, the ability to bargain, make alliances and use the opportunities that have opened up.

The original "Munchkin" has its own easily recognizable style. There are also special themed sets — for example, Star Wars — but they also try to preserve the ironic spirit of the original.
