It is believed that for different types of audio and even for different genres of music, the optimal options for this ratio will also be different; in addition, perception largely depends on the acoustics used, the characteristics of the room, and even the preferences of the listener. Note that low-frequency adjustment is practically never found in modern amplifiers — usually this function is combined with high-frequency adjustment (see below).
