Integrated amplifier

— integrated models combine a preamplifier and a power amplifier in one unit (see the relevant paragraphs). Thus, a weak signal can be applied to the input of such a device, and sufficient power can be obtained at the output for direct connection of speakers. The advantage of integrated amplifiers is not only that instead of two devices they allow you to buy only one: combining two modules in one package reduces the length of the connections between them to a minimum and reduces the likelihood of interference. And some of these models have inputs and outputs that allow you to use them as a preamp only or as a power amplifier only. Among the shortcomings, it can be noted that these two types of amplifier cannot be selected separately, according to your own preferences — you have to buy a one-piece device with the characteristics originally laid down by the manufacturer.
