Gear start protection

— the system, which does not allow the engine to be started when the gear is engaged, avoids sudden jerks of the boat and the corresponding unpleasant consequences. In addition, turning on the engine in gear in many models is also undesirable due to increased loads on the starting system. This function is found only in gasoline engines (see "Engine type").
