— this feature is indicated only for those engines that can use their own generator to power external electrical appliances. Such power can be useful for various purposes — from the operation of on-board radio-electronic equipment (walkie-talkies, GPS-navigators, echo sounders, etc.) and ending with the organization of autonomous lighting or starting another motor with a dead battery. However motors with a generator system are quite expensive. Of course, they can only be gasoline (see "Engine type").
