Boat motors with electric starter
Electric starter
— the presence of an electric starter in the design of a petrol engine (see "Engine type") makes it much easier to start it: you do not need to pull the starter cable, turn the handle, etc. — it is enough to give a command from the switch, and the starter (a special electric motor powered by a battery) will turn the engine shaft, providing the initial impulse necessary for starting. The disadvantages of motors with this function are the bulkiness and increased cost due to the presence of a starter and a battery for its operation, as well as the inability to start when the battery is dead. However, there are engines where the electric starter is duplicated by a manual start system — they are not so dependent on the state of the battery.electric starter | clear | Save List |
