Such devices are much simpler and more convenient to use than mechanical ones: pumping does not require physical effort at all, it is enough to connect and turn on the pump. In addition, some electric pumps have a reverse mode and are able not only to inflate the casing, but also to release air from it – quickly and efficiently. All this is especially convenient with large mattress sizes. On the other hand, electrical units are more complicated and more expensive than mechanical ones, they do not tolerate high humidity, and in the absence of sockets they become useless. Therefore, this type of pump is found exclusively among mattresses for rest (see "Type").Note that in this case we are talking exclusively about electric pumps in the form of separate devices.
