— hydrolevels are designed to determine the height of two points or objects relative to each other, while they use the law of communicating vessels. Such a device consists of two vertical (in working position) flasks connected by a long flexible hose. During operation, the entire structure is filled with water so that the water fills the entire hose and partially the flasks. According to the law of communicating vessels, the water level in both flasks will be the same relative to the ground. Thus, by evaluating the position of two objects relative to the water level in the flasks, it is possible to determine the relative position of these objects — whether they are at the same height, and if not, which of them is higher and by how much. Another option for using hydraulic levels is to mark at the same height.One of the important advantages of such devices over other types of levels is a large range — even the most modest models have hoses about 5 m long, and in the longest this figure can exceed 20 m. In addition, the measurement efficiency does not depend on what form in at the moment accepted the hose (the main thing is that not a single part of it is above the water level in the flasks). This means that the measurement points may not be in direct line of sight relative to each other — with a hydraulic level, you can, for example, turn around the corner and measure the height of a point in the next room.
