HEPA filters

— fine filters used in traditional dry cleaning.

Such filters use a special principle of mechanical air purification, which allows them to retain particles of extremely small sizes — down to hundredths of a micron (comparable to the size of some viruses). HEPA elements are installed at the final stage of filtration, often at the outlet of the vacuum cleaner, behind the dust collector and motor; like all mechanical filters, they accumulate dirt over time, and such a filter has to be changed (it is difficult to clean, it is easier to recycle).

Note that the HEPA filters available on the market vary by grade. The class is indicated by the number of tenths of a micron particles that the filter is able to effectively retain; in elements for vacuum cleaners there are classes from 10 (let less than 15% of particles pass) to 14 (less than 0.005%). Of course, a higher class accordingly affects the cost.
