— this category includes telescopes that are equally well suited for both planetary observations and for viewing distant objects. Most of these models are reflectors (see "Design") of the middle class, with a lens size in the range of 100 – 200 mm and a maximum useful magnification (see the relevant paragraph) up to 300 – 310x. They can use any type of mount, but a very popular option is the equatorial mount, which is the most convenient for astrophotography.
