Autotracking

— the auto-tracking feature allows the telescope to keep a specific celestial object in view at all times. This is especially important for astrophotography: without constant tracking, the subject would “run away” from the frame due to the rotation of the Earth, and its image would be blurry. Note that in telescopes with an azimuthal mount, auto-tracking is available only in models with auto-guidance (see the relevant paragraphs), but in equatorial mounts, a simple drive from an electric motor or clockwork can be provided.
