Protected GPS navigators
Dust and water protection
— the navigator has additional protection from dust and water.Note that any case somehow covers the electronic "stuffing" from dust and water. However, only those devices that were originally created with an increased degree of protection are considered dust- and waterproof. The specific degree of such protection may be different, it should be clarified in each case separately. However, if you need a navigator that can endure high humidity, an abundance of dust in the air and other similar “troubles” without consequences, you should definitely look for such a model among devices declared as dust and water protected.
Specific levels of dust and water protection are most often indicated according to the IP standard, for example, IPX7. Instead of the letter "X" in the designation, there may be a number that determines the resistance of the device case to dust and foreign objects. Water resistance level "7" is combined with dust resistance levels of at least 5 (it is allowed for a small amount of dust to get inside that does not affect the operation of the device), and more often 6 (full dustproof). Specifically, the IPX7 marking means that this model has not been tested for dust resistance and has been certified only for water resistance. However, if water cannot get inside, then it is all the more difficult for dust.
