Hoods with grease filter
Grease filter
— in this case, it is implied that the hood has a grease filter. Such a filter is usually a fine mesh, on which particles of fat from kitchen fumes settle. It protects the exhaust mechanisms from contamination. The filter itself is renewable; it needs to be cleaned or washed periodically. It can be made from different materials. Aluminium and stainless steel are considered the most advanced — such meshes are reliable, strong and durable. Cheaper alloys, collectively referred to as "metal", are not as advanced but also quite practical, and with careful handling, the service life of such a filter is quite comparable to the "life" of the hood. The simplest and most inexpensive material is acrylic (plastic). However the low cost is, in fact, its only advantage: acrylic filters wear out quickly, and some are generally disposable.clear | Save List |
