At Computex 2023, the famous German manufacturer of silent components Be quiet announced a new line of Shadow Base computer cases. Within its framework, the manufacturer strives to combine seemingly incompatible things, developing quiet, but at the same time well-ventilated Midi Tower cases. In the company's internal hierarchy, Shadow Base cases are located between affordable models from the Pure Base line and top-end options from the Dark Base series.

Unlike other lines, in which German engineers rely on sound-absorbing materials and soundproof panels, the Shadow Base cases have a front wall and ceiling made of mesh material, and the glass wall in some cases can also be replaced with mesh. To create optimal air flow inside the case, as a rule, 3 or 4 proprietary Light Wings/Pure Wings fans are pre-installed. Otherwise, these are excellent Midi Tower cases in all respects with a convenient mounting system, thoughtful layout of the internal compartments, swivel trays and the highest quality of materials.

As is customary with Be quiet, during the announcement the manufacturer presented five modifications of the Shadow Base 800 case with a radically different approach to design. Thus, the original Shadow Base 800 is a classic all-black Midi Tower box. For the Shadow Base 800 DX Black and Shadow Base 800 DX White models, the sides of the front panel are decorated with neat strips with addressable LEDs. The Shadow Base 800 FX Black and Shadow Base 800 FX White modifications, equipped with ARGB fans and decorative inserts, are especially suitable for gamers and streamers who want to synchronize complex lighting.
