— by definition, all tandoors, ceramic grills, ovens for cauldrons, and skillet grills are made round (see "Type"). However, in barbecue grills (including models with smokers), smokers, and fire pit grills, both round and other shapes can be used. Let's consider each case separately. Round-shaped barbecue grills are mainly convenient when dealing with small pieces of food or ingredients that have approximately the same length and width (for example, steaks). However, for skewers and elongated products of considerable length (such as certain types of sausages), this shape is noticeably less suitable. Additionally, with the same usable area, a round firebox requires less material than a rectangular or square one, which helps reduce costs. On the other hand, with the same overall dimensions of the device, a round grate has a smaller usable area than a rectangular or square one. All of this is also relevant for models with a smoking function, with adjustments for the features of round smokers described below. In smokers, the round shape also contributes to material savings and cost reduction, but it complicates the even placement of products compared to rectangular or square shapes. Therefore, this option is extremely rare among such products. Fire pit grills are a separate case. In such models, the round shape of the working surface simplifies manufacturing and reduces costs compared to square ones. The disadvantage of this option is the smaller usable area (with the same dimensions) and less temperature variety: if a square surface is conventionally divided into at least three temperature zones (corners, edges, center), a round one lacks corners and has only two zones. This somewhat limits the possibilities for simultaneously cooking different types of products.Show
