This placement is convenient for everyday use: the battery is usually easy to remove and charge separately from the e-bike, and the weight is distributed better than when mounted on the rack. The downside is that the battery casing is visible outside, can get dirtier on rough roads, and doesn't fit as well into the design compared to concealed installation.
