— the simplest material for modern fishing rods is based on the use of thin long strands of glass. The advantages of fibreglass are low price, softness and resistance to impacts; such rods endure falls much better than carbon or graphite rods. On the other hand, they are less resistant to bending, and they weigh significantly more, which can be critical if you need frequent casts.
