Pigment

— pigment inks use solid colorants, so the line is crisp, water- and light-resistant, and barely feathers into the fibers. On paper, this is optimal for signatures, illustrations, and archival documents: the writing stays legible for years. On non-porous materials, their reliability depends on the binder: without an alcohol/acrylic base they’ll adhere worse than classic permanent markers.
