Chafindish
Chafindish
— a device designed to keep cooked food warm. It looks like a rather deep tray, usually metal, installed above the heater. Often, heating is carried out according to the principle of a water bath; a regulator may be provided in the design to select the optimal temperature. Chafindishes are used in establishments with ready meals, when serving food in buffet mode, at banquets, receptions, etc.Marmits can also be called chafendish; although theoretically these types of equipment are somewhat different, however, in fact, the terms "chafendish" and "bain-marie" are often used as synonyms. For more information about this, see "bain-marie".
