— elastic compound specifically for roofs: it seals joints and seams, withstands ultraviolet rays, rain, snow, and seasonal expansion without cracking. It is used on valleys, ridges, around chimneys, vents, skylights, metal overlaps, and near self-tapping screws, as well as for quick "patching" of micro-cracks and leaks. Unlike universal sealants, roofing formulas (bitumen-polymer, MS polymer, polyurethane, neutral silicone) are designed for temperature fluctuations and direct sunlight exposure: bitumen is suitable for bitumen shingles and metal, MS/PU are used for flexible joints and are often applied even on slightly damp surfaces, and neutral silicone is safe around glass and aluminum. It's important to choose a compound compatible with the roof material (acidic silicones damage zinc/copper), clean and degrease the edges, and prime porous areas if necessary to ensure the seam remains waterproof for years.
