— in pushchairs with this system, the individual parts of the frame are connected by a common swivel axis; when the pushchair is folded, these parts are pressed against each other like the pages of a closing book — hence the name. This is the most popular type of folding nowadays: booklike system is more complicated, more expensive and heavier than umbrella system, but it has a number of advantages. First, this method can be used in all types of pushchairs (see "Design"). Secondly, frames of this type are equally convenient as seat units, and for carrycots. Thirdly, such pushchairs can be equipped with classic and universal handles without any problems (see "Handle type"). Fourthly, the height of the "book" reduces by almost half when folded, whereas in umbrella designs this size does not change.booklike type | clear | Save List |
