Zigbee

— the communication protocol, created for automation systems (including "smart home"), alarms, industrial control, etc. In this regard and in many features, Zigbee is similar to Z-Wave (see the relevant section). This standard allows for the transmission of control signals with low energy consumption and also enables the creation of MESH networks with signal routing through multiple nodes and automatic selection of the optimal route based on the current network situation. The main differences between Zigbee and Z-Wave are the high security of communication channels against hacking, as well as the ability to ensure fast response times. The downside of these advantages is the higher cost of implementing this protocol, while in smart plugs, speed and security usually do not play a key role. Therefore, devices under this communication standard are produced in smaller quantities than under Z-Wave.
