Bluetooth plugs
Bluetooth
— a technology used to connect smart plugs to smartphones and other similar gadgets (primarily tablets). It is used only for direct connection between devices and does not involve remote control via the Internet, local network, etc. — this is the main difference from Wi-Fi technology, which is also suitable for control via a smartphone / tablet. In addition, a Bluetooth connection has a shorter range than Wi-Fi — usually less than 15 – 20 m, and with a large wall thickness and an abundance of interference — a few metres. Thus, smart sockets with such control are quite rare. However, this communication protocol has its advantages. First of all, its implementation is cheaper than Wi-Fi. The second point is that such a connection works without the use of routers and other intermediate equipment (whereas in the case of Wi-Fi sockets, not every model allows direct connection, many devices work only through a wireless network). In addition, Bluetooth is quite energy efficient; and although the specifics of using smart sockets are such that they usually do not need high energy efficiency, however, in some cases this feature may be useful. An example is the situation when the battery in the smartphone is almost dead, it is not possible to charge it, but you need to make changes to the outlet settings.
