Suunto Vertical Series smartwatches are designed for travel and outdoor sports. They feature accurate GPS with support for all major satellite systems, map downloads (32 GB of internal memory), track guidance and autonomous navigation without a smartphone connection.
The Suunto Vertical Solar offers athletes 95 sport modes with advanced metrics such as recovery status and VO2 Max, while travelers get a digital compass accurate to 5 degrees, a barometer and an altimeter. The watch is designed to operate in a wide temperature range from -20 to +55 °C.
Exceptional autonomy
This smartwatch features an energy-efficient transflective touchscreen that uses natural light to increase brightness in sunlight and reduce the need for backlighting. Although the screen resolution is moderate (280x280 pixels) and the color gamut is modest, this display, paired with a solar battery, provides an impressive battery life of up to 60 days. Without recharging from sunlight, the watch works for up to 30 days.
Durable and water resistant
The Suunto Vertical Solar has a durable reinforced polyamide case with a steel or titanium bezel. The dial is protected from scratches by a sapphire crystal, and the WR100M water resistance makes it suitable for swimming and water sports.
The downside is the lack of contactless payment support. If this isn't a deal-breaker for you, the Suunto Vertical Solar is an excellent "long-lasting" smartwatch that can compete with more expensive Garmin models.
