Grill surface — cut in half
The German electric raclette oven Steba RC-4 plus is the lightest model in the series and weighs only 6.7 kg with a working surface of 29x29 cm. This is explained simply: here the surface of the broiler is divided in half and a stone plate is installed on one side and an aluminium plate on the other. Thus, without losing the variety of thermal properties of the culinary processing of products, it was possible to significantly reduce the total weight of the set. The stone brazier has the same planes, and the cast metal plate, protected from sticking by a special coating, has a smooth and corrugated surface. The device is completed with 8 enameled trays for the preparation of traditional processed raclette cheese.
The junior model of the series was a success
The device uses a single heating element with a power of 1450 W for heating. The heat emitted by the heating element spreads equally well to the upper grill plate and to the lower pans filled with cheese. Depending on your culinary preferences, you can simply melt the cheese to get a raclette, or bring it to a golden crisp and enjoy an exquisite gratin. Of course, these dishes will be the highlight of any party and will surprise your guests. Usually, 200 – 250 g of hard cheese is used to prepare one serving of raclette, which corresponds to the capacity of a small frying pan. The device is equipped with a stepless mechanical thermostat, a rotary power switch with a heating indicator, a drip tray for collecting dripping fat and a reel for storing the power cord in the case. The model is perfectly assembled and is a model of simplicity, reliability and quality, but it disappoints with a clearly overpriced price tag.
