Model overview based on user reviews
The Razer Kiyo webcam offers a unique design with a multi-stage ring light that is adjustable, making it ideal for streamers needing good lighting. It features a weighted base for stability and can be mounted on a tripod. However, users have noted several drawbacks, including a high price for the quality offered, issues with focus and image clarity, and a tendency for the white balance to be warmer than desired. Some users experienced burnout of the light panel after a short period of use. The accompanying software has been criticized for being unreliable. While the image quality is satisfactory, there is a desire for improvement. Overall, the Razer Kiyo is a good option for those who prioritize design and lighting, but it may not meet the expectations of those seeking top-tier image quality.

a model with serious flaws

The price is very high for such a grainy camera quality. Yes, the design is excellent: the base is weighted, providing good stable support. Thanks to the additional threaded hole, you can mount the camera on a tripod. The ring light can also be adjusted. The camera is poorly focused and the image is often blurry. It was not possible to fully regulate this moment. I expected high-level light and image quality from this webcam, but that's not it. The white balance is warmer than needed. I used the light of the camera to soften the image in the stream, about 2 to 4 hours of streaming sessions twice a week. Some of the light panel on the front of the camera burned out, which made me very upset. And this is for 2 months of use! The app I installed to use the webcam is terrible, it keeps blocking. The camera is disappointing.

a model with serious flaws

I didn’t like the camera from the start — it handled lighting badly. The LED ring light only made things worse. Because of that, the camera fried right after the warranty ended.

Convenient camera with lighting, ideal for streamers. The image quality is quite good, but you'd already want a better quality. There is software with a wide range of settings.
backlighting, software, quite good image quality

The most futuristic

The model justifiably received the Tom`s guide innovation award 2017 (which is given for unique innovations in various aspects of electronic devices, from design to technical capabilities), its appearance makes people overpay at times for relatively ordinary functionality. This is a desktop camera equipped with a multi-stage ring light that helps you stream or Skype even at night. Lighting is provided by LEDs through a milky white diffuser. All this together creates a feeling of uniform white illumination.

What's in terms of functionality?

The webcam shoots in 1080p resolution at 30 fps and in 720p up to 60 fps. Not outstanding performance relative to the price. Good image quality is facilitated by the presence of automatic focus. The viewing angle is 81.6 degrees, so the camera will have to be rotated to fully capture the desired area.

Where is the catch?

The camera is equipped with a conventional omnidirectional microphone that will pick up all the sounds that reach it. The question arises, why are they asking such a high price? Apparently for the award from the beginning of our review and a really interesting design that can be a good addition to the monitor and the overall interior of the room.

The model can be safely recommended to those people who want an unusual webcam, although its technical capabilities leave much to be desired.
