Large-format FullHD monitor with a curved 32-inch screen, excellent colour gamut, semi-gloss anti-glare coating (25% matte) and built-in stereo speakers (2x3W). It is positioned as a product of the middle price category from the Philips E-Line family of 2019, the monitors of which are focused on use in entry/mid-level workstations. Suitable for professional work with vector / raster graphics, use in CAD / CAE systems, it can be a good choice for equipping a home multimedia entertainment PC.

An important feature of the Philips 328E9QJAB monitor is the curvilinear screen geometry. It effectively compensates for optical distortions that occur in the corners of large diagonal screens due to the imperfection of human vision. The large pixel (0.364 mm) maximizes the distance from the image to the user's eyes, which reduces the level of chronic tension in the lens muscles.

The screen is based on a high-quality eight-bit VA-matrix, which is capable of displaying more than 16 million colours and subtle colour transitions. The important advantages of this model also include an increased static contrast ratio of 3000: 1 and excellent viewing angles, reaching 178 °. To connect to a signal source, one analogue (D-sub VGA) and two digital interface ports (HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort) are provided.

Perfect low-cost option

The updated line of Phillips monitors 2018-2019 turned out to be so successful that looking for negative reviews online is akin to trying to find a mask in a pharmacy. For example, in the case of the Philips 328E9QJAB model, people periodically criticize the quality of the built-in speakers. Yes, they are not so-so, but here the very fact of having speakers is a plus. We have seen control joysticks and are more comfortable, but again, this is a nitpick, and not a clear drawback. That's all with flaws. One could complain that the resolution is only Full HD, which is not enough for a 32-inch diagonal, but this is akin to complaining that the Nissan Leaf electric car has less “horses” than the Ford Mustang. But there are plenty of reasons to praise the Philips 328E9QJAB, so make yourself comfortable.

Mom's friend's son monitor

For starters, this is one of the most affordable 32-inch curved monitors out there. It costs just under $300. Only a few frankly outdated 2016 models will come out cheaper. At the same time, the Philips 328E9QJAB VA matrix looks almost perfect: the 1800R curvature radius is perfect for such a diagonal, and the viewing angles of the VA matrix here are at the level of IPS matrices — colours practically do not lose intensity when viewed from an angle. Well, excellent colour reproduction (122% coverage of sRGB and 103% NTSC) makes it a great option for viewing multimedia content or working with graphics. If you're not into gaming monitors with high refresh rates, then this big guy is very good for gaming, since it has a fair refresh rate of 75 Hz, which does not decrease when FreeSync is enabled.

Looks cool and modern

If all this is not enough, then we continue to praise. Philips 328E9QJAB looks cool and modern: the bezels on the sides and top are barely noticeable, and the thick bottom edge gives the design solidity. A graceful metal leg only emphasizes the image, giving it completeness. It is equally important that it is strong and massive, thanks to it the monitor stands rooted to the spot on the table. Plus, the tilt adjustment is both tight and smooth, which inspires the feeling of a monumental device. To connect to a signal source, VGA port, DisplayPort and HDMI are used. A standard VESA mount is provided for wall mounting. In general, if other low-cost monitors promise many compromises, then this option from Phillips pleasantly surprises and could cost much more.
