Chinese vs Global Smartphone Versions: What’s the Difference? We'll explore the dangers of skimping on a Chinese smartphone and whether it makes sense.

Why do smartphones start to slow down and what amount of RAM is now considered optimal?Let's explore the reasons for the slowdown and the optimal amount of RAM for smartphones
I have recently owned an LG V50 (Sprint). The smartphone is super, but you shouldn't expect much from it. You can use it in 2025, the performance is enough, but there are nuances, and very big ones. The stock firmware is beautiful, but it often starts to freeze/lag (most often when opening the notification curtain, or in any other place where there is a beautiful, but ill-fated background blur effect), and for a better user experience, it is advisable to disable programs that you will NOT use. The cameras are not bad, having a Redmi 7A on a custom with GCam and an LG V50 - the second one shoots clearly better, plus there is stabilization. But in the stock camera, the telephoto lens will NOT work in low light (evening photos in x2 will be taken on the main camera). I can't say anything about the front ones - I'm not a fan of taking pictures of the face, but it seems to be enough for life. The battery is enough. With complex use, it can last a day, sometimes even more. Fast charging only works when the screen is off, otherwise instead of 2.5A, only 1A will flow into the battery. And the most common reason for taking a phone is the ES9218P DAC. And here everything is ambiguous: Comparing it with any other phones, the difference is noticeable - the sound is louder, cleaner and more detailed ... Until the moment I connected headphones to the same Redmi 7A, which, having been flashed (and with some sound corrections), is not much behind LG in quality. Some on the forums (with other devices) are of the same opinion. I think that flashing, rooting and editing files will fix this problem - A good battery, as well as good system optimization so that the charge does not fly away too much in standby mode. A good screen (but it really likes to "loop"), for which you can choose a resolution from 720p to 1440p. Cameras (and most importantly their design - others cannot make cameras flush with the case, but LG could, and they are still good) Performance in undemanding tasks (Internet, social networks, watching videos, reading documents, etc.) The presence of a DAC (albeit strangled by software) and an AUX jack. The presence of a notification LED and a fingerprint scanner on the back cover (even without setting the screen lock, it makes sense - you can open the notification panel by enabling this function in the settings). An additional button, to which, if desired, you can assign other functions, and not just calling the Google assistant. Minor freezes on the stock firmware, and in some places the stock itself, which greatly cuts the real capabilities of the phone. The sound from the speakers - without adjusting the equalizer, watching a video on it feels painful (on the table it also sounds like a C). Plus, it is quite quiet in itself. Complete termination of support for the device on behalf of the company (their withdrawal from the market), as a result of which any action with the phone (Update, unlocking the bootloader, etc.) turns into a very bold decision. Not fatal, but heating the processor to 65-72 degrees (only if you have the original on hand). Not much sense in a DAC when using wired headphones with a resistance of less than 32 ohms, or when using cheap headphones (with a bad driver and / or sound). High probability of buying a Chinese refab. |
A great smartphone for the price. I’m always cheating without complaining. Until then, the sound in headphones is exceptional, as is the DAC. Camera, productivity, sound in headphones. Not very capacious battery for 2023 |
