High-quality work on bugs
After the first power supplies from Gigabyte began to fail en masse, many experts lost confidence in the brand. However, the Taiwanese company has done serious work on the bugs and returned to the game. One of the biggest hits was the PG5 gold power supply with 80 Plus Gold certification, detachable cables and Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con capacitors for high quality and reliability.
Hardware platform from MEIC
Gigabyte PG5 is built on the MEIC platform, which, despite good reviews, needs additional optimization. The platform uses ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 architecture, supports PCIe 5.0 and ATX 3.0 standards, necessary to power powerful current-generation video cards.
Great, but not perfect
With its modest price (about 4000+ hryvnia for a 750 W model), this is a mid-level power supply that meets the standards of more expensive models. It has an unfortunate cooling system that is quiet up to 50% load, but becomes noisy at full load. There are also questions about the cables: two EPS connectors are located on one cable, which can lead to overheating and voltage drop when connecting powerful components.
