Berghoff frying pans are made in Belgium, so the buyer does not have to doubt the quality of the products. In addition to European production, the user gets a capacity (28 cm / 2.3 L) and quality materials: die-cast aluminium that perfectly distributes heat over the entire surface, a scratch-resistant outer coating and a modern Fernogreen non-stick coating on the inside. By the way, unlike cheap Teflon, Fernogreen does not contain harmful ingredients (acids, cadmium, lead) and is characterized by perfect smoothness and easy cleaning of the pan. Special attention deserves a 6 mm bottom, which is a solid aluminium disk that accumulates heat to save energy in cooking.
Miracle pen and great features
The bakelite handle, which traditionally does not heat up along with the pan itself, can be easily removed — just one click is enough for the mechanism to release the utensils from the handle. Without it, you can safely send the pan as a baking dish directly into a hot oven! A small auxiliary handle, located opposite the main one, will help you in your culinary endeavors and facilitate the use of the product.
A nice “bonus” of an induction frying pan is that it can be used without any problems on any stove: glass-ceramic, halogen, electric or gas.
Nuances of use
Can this pan be washed in the dishwasher? Not prohibited, but the manufacturer specifies that Gem 2307302 shows hand washing. The fact is that the Fernogreen coating does not tolerate the “contrast shower” that often waters dishes in dishwashers when changing cycles, and for durability it is better to clean the pan with a soft sponge under running water.
