Prayer rings
Church
— church rings are called, intended for believers. The words “Save and save” are traditionally applied to such decoration — a short and at the same time capacious formula, one of the most important phrases in Christian, in particular Orthodox, dogma. In terms of meaning, a church ring is similar to a cross or a wearable icon: it primarily symbolizes the true faith and connection of a person with God and the church. It is also believed that such an ornament can guide a believer on the right path in a difficult and ambiguous life situation. Moreover, for this thought there is not only a mystical, but also a completely scientific justification: the ring on the hand is more noticeable than the same pectoral cross, and the inscription “Save and save” seen in time can remind a person of his faith, principles of life and relationship with God.If we talk about the Orthodox tradition, then the basic rules for wearing church rings are as follows:
— The ring must be consecrated in the church. It is best to buy such a symbol from the very beginning in a church shop, but you can also bring a product from a jewelry store.
— Silver is considered the best material for a church ring. But gold is not forbidden either; and if there are other gold ornaments on the same hand, the ecclesiastical ring must also be gold.
— You can wear a ring on any finger, there are no direct prescriptions and prohibitions on this matter. However, there are some recommendations. It is best to put the creed on the thumb, index or middle finger of the right hand (the three fingers used in the sign of the cross). It is undesirable to wear a church ring on the ring finger along with the engagement ring if the spouses did not get married in the church.
