Audio receivers with coaxial S/P-DIF input
prices on 22 models— electrical version of the S/PDIF interface. It uses a cable with RCA connectors (“tulips”) for signal transmission, however, it is not compatible with line inputs, because the signal is transmitted in digital format (rather than analogue), and reinforced shielding is very desirable for the cable. The S/PDIF standard allows multi-channel audio to be transmitted over a single wire. At the same time, its coaxial version, on the one hand, loses to the optical one (see the relevant paragraph) in terms of resistance to interference, and on the other hand, it surpasses it in cable strength and its resistance to bending and pressure.
