Wi-Fi

— a wireless technology developed for creating computer networks, but recently also used for direct connection between various devices (Wi-Fi Direct). Both of these options are also found in audio receivers. Connecting to a Wi-Fi network can be used both to work with local resources (for example, according to DLNA or AirPlay standards) and to access the Internet (in particular, to receive Internet radio). At the same time, the absence of wires makes this option more convenient than connecting via LAN. Direct connection is less common; one of the most popular options for its use is to connect a smartphone or tablet instead of a remote control.
