In this context, cellulite refers to the cosmetic term—an alteration in the structure of the subcutaneous layer, leading to impaired microcirculation, stagnation, and dystrophy of fatty tissue. In its mild form, cellulite leads to skin puffiness, while in more severe cases, it results in loss of elasticity, an "orange peel" effect (the skin becomes similar due to the formation of micro-nodules), the appearance of irregularities, and painful hardenings. Due to physiological reasons, women mostly suffer from cellulite; it most commonly occurs on the skin of the thighs and buttocks.

Anti-cellulite products usually work by improving blood and lymph circulation and increasing skin firmness to eliminate the external signs of cellulite.
